Last week, almost all the newspapers ran the story of how Heather Mills was abused throughout her time spent married to the former Beatle, Sir Paul McCartney. The allegations were based on a transcript of a secret deposition that Heather made in the divorce proceedings that reached two of the major tabloid in Britain via unknown ways.
Yesterday, Heather's law firm, Mishcon de Reya, announced that she plans to file a law suit against the 'Daily Mail' and 'Evening Standard' for publishing the story, although it was not specified which will be the course of action. As things stand, Mills could only file for libel, breach of privacy or both.
Meanwhile, the former model states that her reputation has been sullied and vilified with the publishing of the article, as that was meant to be a private deposition and not a subject for tabloids. And - because she cannot take to court each media outlet that followed the story - she has chosen the ones where it all started.
'It would appear that the media has concluded that there are no limits to what may be said about, or done to, out client. She is stalked by press photographers, who congregate outside her home and chase after her in cars - regardless of her safety or the safety of her daughter', the solicitors said.
This is not the first time Mills is taking legal action against a tabloid or newspaper, the first time being when her pornographic book surfaced after twenty years and 'News of the World' ran a story according to which she was a former deluxe hooker.
