A new full-blown feud has started between Lady Gaga, the controversial pop singer and Demi Lovato, another pop artist who chose a more mainstream career path. The whole beef started when Lady Gaga invited her friend Millie Brown, a performance artist known for her “vomit art” on stage during her show at the SXSW festival.

Demi Lovato saw the concert in which Lady Gaga got vomited on by Brown throughout her performance, as she kept ingesting some neon green liquid and then throwing it back out on the singer, and she got very offended.

She blasted Gaga on Twitter saying that her action made bulimia look cool to the younger generation and caught hell for it from Gaga's “little monsters,” as she calls her fans. They went ballistic on Demi, who stood her ground and pointed a finger at herself, reminding all that she too had struggled with eating disorders some time ago.

Now it's the turn of Millie Brown, the “vomit artist,” to take a swing at Lovato. She posted a photo of one of Lovato's previous tweets from 2013, which read, “I think people are too judgmental on artists today. Artists have and always will have the right to express themselves in any way they want...” To this, Millie added, “But yet to bash Gaga?”

Brown also added in a later post, “I believe in absolute freedom of expression. Challenging perceptions of art & beauty. If art is your communication it should not be censored,” thus maintaining that what she did on stage was all part of an act and should be labeled as art.

Later, she pointed out in an interview that “There's a clear difference between using my body to create something beautiful, to express myself and feel powerful, rather than using it to punish myself and conform to society's standards.” She seems keen to distance herself from the medical disorder known today as bulimia, claiming that her act is in no way connected to that, but rather an artistic shout for freedom.

This is a response to Demi's tweet last week which read, “Sad... As if we didn't have enough people glamorizing eating disorders already. Bottom line, it's not ‘cool’ or ‘artsy’ at all.” Lovato was clearly disturbed by Gaga's weird performance, which also included the singer appearing on stage tied to a spit and being basted by her back up dancers, as if she were a grilling piece of meat.

Her “vomit” performance played out during the song “Swine,” and as Millie stuck her fingers down her throat and regurgitated green liquid on Gaga, the singer shouted to the cheering audience, “I'm covered in puke!”

Gaga has yet to respond to Demi Lovato's public shaming, which would indicate that she's not seeking retribution.
