This year’s edition of the American Music Awards was a celebration of the greatest artists on the US music scene at the moment and, as expected, the live performances matched the caliber of the event. Lady Gaga’s medley of two of the tracks included on her latest album, “The Fame Monster,” more than lived up to her reputation of an always surprising and highly original entertainer.

The first notes of “Bad Romance,” the first single off the aforementioned album, saw Gaga step on the scene in a very futuristic-meets-Alien getup, complete with lighted ribcage accessory and headwear. The shoes also matched the entire outfit, while Gaga’s entire body was covered in white powder on the areas where it was not covered by a beige leotard.

Perfectly synchronized with her troupe of dancers, the singer delivered a good, albeit somewhat mellow, rendition of “Bad Romance.” However, this only happened, critics say, because she saved the best for last, namely for when she took to the piano to perform “Speechless,” the slowest-paced track off the entire album. There was a cage made of mirrors, flames on the piano and broken glass, as Gaga sang with plenty of emotion about a love story that leaves no room for words – and the audience loved every it step of the way.

Gaga who dressed in a […] leotard and flashy light get-up, performed her hit single, ‘Bad Romance.’ The performance had her back up dancers dressed almost as similar to her, where she showed off her unique moves, and amazing vocals,” Examiner says of the performance.

“Following ‘Bad Romance,’ Gaga shattered the glass behind her, playing the piano that was lit on fire, and sang another amazing song, ‘Speechless.’ From the looks of things, Gaga did leave the audience ‘Speechless’!” the same publication further writes.
