14 DAY TRIAL // Any piece of fashion news that has Lady Gaga's name attached to it is bound to be shocking. The “Fame” singer has made a point out of wearing some of the most unusual costumes, so probably not too many were left speechless when she showed up for the Jingle Bell Ball dressed as a Christmas tree. In order to make her costume more authentic, she wore a fir tree headdress made out of actual fir tree branches. Complete with Christmas decorations and a big, yellow star on top, a green-haired Gaga took the time to get photographed by the media and also some of her fans, her little “monsters,” as she likes to call them.
The rest of her ensemble was completed by a red one-piece with some very high shoulders and very short shorts which had the general appearance of a big cocoon.
If the upper half of her costume was very in tune with the festive tone of the event, the lower half played more on Gaga's outrageous personality. With black fishnet stockings and sky-high platform boots, Lady Gaga would have been right at home in an exotic gentlemen's establishment.
Making her usual faces at photographers and striking her familiar poses, Gaga might be overcompensating for her not-so-hot-in-the-charts album. Or maybe she's trying to keep people interested and talking about her.
Either way, she stayed in character, which might not have been the easiest thing to do, on her high heels and while balancing a Christmas tree on her head.
Either way, Gaga seemed more than happy to be back on stage at the O2 Arena where the Jingle Bells Ball was held, and even told audiences during her performance: “I want you to know, I don't live for fame I live for this moment right now, the applause.”
