Lady Gaga talks plastic surgery with Harper’s Bazaar, says she’s never had anything done

Lady Gaga has never had anything done to her face or body, and she’s convinced she’ll never go under the knife. Cosmetic surgery only promotes insecurity by putting out there models that are simply not possible any other way, she says in the brand new interview with Harper’s Bazaar.

Though word online has it that Gaga herself has had at least some minor work done, like rhinoplasty and perhaps a chin implant, the singer says she’s all natural – and plans on remaining so for the rest of her life.

Of course, that’s not to say she’s entirely against what she calls “body modification” and which, in her case, implies “growing” protrusions on her forehead, face and shoulders.

“I have never had plastic surgery, and there are many pop singers who have. I think that promoting insecurity in the form of plastic surgery is infinitely more harmful than an artistic expression related to body modification,” Gaga says.

The truth of the matter is that there are countless stars out there who have had drastic surgery. Gaga at least hasn’t.

“And how many models and actresses do you see on magazine covers who have brand-new faces and have had plastic surgery, while I myself have never had any plastic surgery?” Gaga asks.

“I am an artist, and I have the ability and the free will to choose the way the world will envision me,” she says.

As for whether she’s “promoting” plastic surgery with her protrusions, Gaga knows that her latest form of expressing herself creatively may be interpreted this way, but it’s not necessarily true.

“Trust me, I know that. I think a lot of people love to convolute what everyone else does in order to disempower women. But my fans know me,” she says.

“They would never hurt themselves. And if they have hurt themselves, they come to me and say, ‘Gaga, I want to stop, and your music helps me want to stop. Your music makes me want to love myself’,” the “Born This Way” singer adds.

Or, as the message of the leading single off her upcoming album says, everyone is special in their own way and love is the key to every problem in life.
