Lady Gaga is generally considered pretty la la because of her weird fashion choices and that certain something she has about her that makes each of her appearances so unique. Still, it’s precisely this that has gotten her so far and, in the latest issue of Rolling Stone magazine, the singer insists once more that she’s not faking it one bit.

Hailed as “the defining pop star of the year” for being able to count as her fans such huge names as Madonna and even rocker Marilyn Manson, and for never being too afraid to get tongues wagging, Gaga is all that meets the eye, and then some, as the popular music magazine puts it. She’s got guts, she’s got attitude and style, and, above all, Lady Gaga has talent, all of which make of her one of the few performers of our time with real potential to write a page in the history of music.

“I don’t feel like I look like the other perfect little pop singers.” Gaga tells the magazine, explaining how she believes her appeal is partly due to the fact that she’s actively changing people’s perception of what’s beautiful or what’s in style. This is why she’s busy almost 24/7 just being Gaga, because that’s the real her and she’s not just a poser like the countless pop artists the grinding machine of showbiz has spat out throughout the years and then let slip into total oblivion.

“The truth is, the psychotic woman that I truly am comes out when I’m not working. When I’m not working, I go crazy.” the singer tells the magazine, adding that she has now so many projects underway that she hardly has a minute to herself to be idle, which works out just fine for her. Still, she is fully aware that, in order to be an icon, she needs more than just a couple of months riding the wave of fame: she needs longevity in showbiz and that she is now striving to attain. “My true legacy will be the test of time, and whether I can sustain a space in pop culture and really make stuff that will have a genuine impact.” Gaga explains.

The latest issue of Rolling Stone magazine is out on newsstands today. In the same interview, Lady Gaga will also approach other topics, such as her own idea of beauty and, of course, fashion, as well as her love life. The interview comes accompanied by a very Gaga-esque type of photospread, which has the singer in nothing but her fierceness and a couple of well-placed bubbles, as several US media outlets point out.
