Pop star Lady Gaga has recently insisted in an interview with Channel's 4 Alan Carr on his chat show “Chatty Man” that Britain, and Tom Daley in particular, should boycott the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

Gaga might have been inspired to name Tom Daley as a representative of Britain's anti-gay discrimination campaign because the 19-year-old diver recently admitted in a heartfelt video on YouTube that he fancies both boys and girls.

The singer, who has already declared herself to be equally attracted to both boys and girls and who is an avid LGBT rights activist, praised Daley's courage for coming out on YouTube when so many gays are being oppressed in so many countries from across the world.

After that, she went on to explain what she thinks of the countries who do not support gay rights, like Russia; “I don't think that we should be going to the Olympics at all. I mean I would never take anything away from [the athlete's] hard work, I just think it is absolutely wrong for so many countries to send money and economy in the way of a country that doesn't support gays.”

She went on to reveal that she had heartfelt sympathy for the gays in Russia. “It made me very sad to see the pain that some of the gay kids are in Russia,” where they are pepper sprayed and beaten, she said.

What Gaga doesn't know is that Tom Daley will not be participating in next year's Russian winter Olympics, so she might have to find herself another gay rights activist to promote her agenda.

Still, her feelings on the matter are clear, especially since she claims she doesn't think she's welcomed in Russia anymore after having screamed on stage “I'm gay, arrest me!.”

Meanwhile, Tom Daley is enjoying a surge in popularity after he told the entire world he was gay in a video confession posted to YouTube. He has received amazing support from fans and ordinary people who have been commending him on his courage to come forward with what he called “a heavy weight on my shoulders.”
