14 DAY TRIAL // Clearly, Susan Boyle is, right now, one of the hottest newcomers on the music scene. Not only does rapper 50 Cent want her for a duet and she’s reported to sing for the Obamas in January, but she’s also on Lady Gaga’s hot list. In an interview with The Sun, the singer revealed she would love to do a duet with Boyle even if their styles were completely different and they might not hit it off at first.
Gaga stands in awe of the many accomplishments that Susan Boyle can boast of, and this in the second part of the year alone. The way the Scottish singer climbed international charts with her debut album is not all that Gaga admires about her, though, as she knows it takes real talent, dedication and hard work to be able to do that. Because of this and much more, Gaga would never say no to a collaboration with Susan, no matter how far-fetched the idea might seem at this point.
“I love Susan Boyle. She is my woman of the year. She has achieved more in this year than most artists will in a lifetime. This time last year nobody even knew who she was and now she is knocking the world’s most established artists off the album and singles charts. Our styles are different. I don’t know if we could work together, but never say never. It would be great to work with somebody of that talent,” Gaga is quoted by The Sun as saying.
In the same interview, Gaga also goes on to say that her favorite moment with Susan remains that when she first auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent, which is also when she literally became an international superstar, thanks to YouTube and the power of the word of mouth. The expression on Cowell’s face was priceless, Gaga says, because, even if he’s well experienced in the ways of the music, not even he expected that.
On the other hand, 50 Cent has also offered (in jest) to take Susan Boyle out clubbing in exchange for a collaboration. “Everyone is talking about her, the lady from Britain’s Got Talent. She’s got an amazing voice, and together we’d get everyone dancing. I’m always looking to do something new and she’s cool, so I’ll ask somebody to let her know. I’d love to take her clubbing, show her around my world. She’d have a great time,” the rapper said a while back.
