14 DAY TRIAL // It looks like the world of pop female singer is about to go up in flames like a 4th of July firecracker. Two of the heavyweights of the pop industry, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry, are at each other's throats after Gaga took a direct wing at Katy, accusing her of stealing her looks and stage props for her own performances.
In a short message on Twitter, Gaga alluded to the fact that there was more than one similarity between her shows and Perry's when she said “It looks like green hair and mechanical horses are the thing now [rolling eyes].”
In case you missed it, that was a direct jab at Katy Perry, who has recently dyed her hair slime green, just like Gaga did some time ago, and also used a mechanical horse for a performance. Again, you can guess that Lady Gaga claimed the copyright on that.
While some of you might argue that Lady Gaga doesn't hold a patent on green hair, since many other music stars have decided to follow suit (one such example is Demi Lovato), it's slightly odd that Katy chose to use roughly the same mechanical horse model as Gaga.
That being said, we shall be forgiven for siding with Katy Perry, but since Gaga changes up to three or four outfits every day, full with make-up, hair and accessories, it's really hard not to cross paths with her at some point.
And when that happens, it's real easy for her to cry foul play, but let's face it, there are only so many colors out there in the world and if Gaga uses them all up first, that doesn't give her the right to complain about others stealing them off of her.
Perry kicked off her world tour yesterday at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and she chose to ride a mechanical horse in one segment. Lady Gaga, as it turns out, was watching the competition closely.
This isn't the first time Gaga has taken a shot at Katy. Two months ago, she is quoted as saying on stage in Austin, Texas “I don't know what the [expletive] all I have to do wit Katy Perry … Our music is so completely different. I couldn't be more different, really.”
However, she has never publicly acknowledged her feud with Katy. During an interview with Ryan Seacrest, she said that “I really like Katy Perry and I like her fans.” So far, Katy has yet to respond to the allegations that she's stealing stuff from Gaga's performances.
