She’s often courted controversy with both her music and her fashion style, but it’s just now that Lady Gaga seems to be really ready to rock the boat. Following online reports that she’s both male and female, the singer is featured in a photoshoot for Vogue Homme Japan disguised as a man, as AceShowbiz can confirm.

The odd thing is that, for once, Gaga appears to be trying to fly under the radar, as her identity is not acknowledged anywhere. Still, it’s not like people can’t tell it’s her, even if she usually wears a lot of makeup and even a face mask, so buzz on the Internet is starting to pick up, saying that Gaga is turning “gender bender” again by donning men’s clothes and posing as a man for a men’s magazine.

“Lady Gaga has once again gone beyond usual. In a recent photo shoot, Gaga didn’t wear a wacky outfit or show lots of her skin. […] In a series of new photographs, Gaga dressed in suit and shirt. In one shot, the 24-year-old singer is seen wearing a white shirt with unbuttoned suit and having her black hair gelled up, while she smokes a cigarette. In another shot, additionally, the ‘Poker Face’ hitmaker is seen in a white shirt and showing the right part of her face, totally looking like a male,” AceShowbiz says.

“According to the site, the images were taken by photographer Nick Knight and arranged by regular Gaga stylist Nicola Formichetti. The pics are set to appear in a men’s fashion editorial for the September issue of Vogue Hommes Japan. Nicola also posted the photos on her blog but listed the model’s name as Jo Calderone. [Blogger Perez Hilton’s] followers, however, acknowledged that the person in the pic is indeed Gaga,” the same e-zine further writes.

This most recent photospread does come in tune with everything else Gaga has been doing lately. Her video for “Alejandro,” for instance, is meant to be a tribute to the gay community, and Gaga’s way of showing her appreciation and respect for it, as she said shortly after it was release. Moreover, her upcoming album, whose name she’ll reveal precisely on New Year’s Eve, will also tackle some very serious political and social themes, as we also informed you a short while ago.
