We know the nominees for the Grammys 2012, now it's time to talk about the performances. During the ceremony that named the contenders in the biggest categories for the upcoming awards show, various artists took to the stage to perform.

Lady Gaga was one of them and, according to her Little Monsters, the best.

Not that you can blame them really. Even those who say Gaga is trying too hard to stand out and, because of it, loses some of her appeal, will admit that she's one of the most talented and passionate live performers of the day.

This was apparent during the two songs she performed just hours ago, “Marry the Night” and “You and I,” which was turned into an amazing duet with Sugarland.

For “Marry the Night,” Gaga sported the look fans have already seen in the “Born This Way” video: skeleton makeup, complete with a stage outfit made of bra and panties, and a black jacket.

Her dancers were similarly styled.

Later on, Gaga was back on the stage, this time with Sugarland, for a sweet, powerful and emotional rendition of “You and I.” Gaga was dressed (like, really dressed) this time.

While the former performance was truly a sight to behold, the latter was downright jaw-dropping, and not because of some artifice like a huge stage set piece or incredible makeup. Check it out to see what we mean by that.
