Luxury fashion house Versace decided on making fashion offender Lady Gaga, the face of their upcoming spring campaign. Reportedly, the photo shoot for the campaign has already been done by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot in London earlier this fall.

Lady Gaga has been known to be good friends with Donatella Versace for a while now, so the fact that the two will be working together doesn't come as a surprise. The frequent fashion offender and the creative director of luxury house Versace have had a close friendship over the years.

This wouldn't be the first time that Gaga and Donatella are collaborating, the two divas having worked on several projects together: Versace created the costumes Gaga wore on her “Born This Way” Ball tour and on the music video for “Edge of Glory.”

Also, Gaga was granted exclusive access to Versace's archives and made headlines last year when she wore Elisabeth Hurley's famous safety pin black dress.

In her latest album, “Artpop,” Gaga dedicated an entire song to Donatella Versace, and it seems that the famous creative director has returned the favor by making Gaga the new face of her spring campaign.

The song is called “Donatella” and it's actually a love letter, “it's about a fearless female and not caring what people say about you – being proud of who you are and walking the walk no matter what,” Gaga says according to Just Jared.

Donatella was impressed by the “Applause” singer's love letter and publicly proceeded on thanking her. “I would like to thank Gaga for her geniality, creativity, incredible talent […] I am honored to be her friend and of course I love the song!”

As if the public acknowledgement was not enough, Donatella wanted to make sure that Gaga's efforts would be highly appreciated, and decided to tap the singer into starring her spring campaign. Versace's 2014 spring collection is rumored to adopt a more rock-street-tastic approach, making Lady Gaga the perfect candidate.
