Lady Gaga is taking a cue from Miley Cyrus and other non-famous people before her, and is switching to a gluten-free diet in a bid to lose weight and get a boost of energy. Her goal is to be 10 pounds (4.5 kg) thinner as soon as possible, it has emerged.

Sky News claims to have it on good authority that the pop star is already on the new diet, The Huffington Post reports.

Moreover, to make sure she sticks to it and isn't sidetracked, she's also instructed her staff to be constantly on their toes to make sure temptation is never at hand for her no matter where she goes.

“Sources told Sky News that the already thin 'Born This Way' singer, 26, is hoping that eating wheat-free will give her the energy she needs to power through the remaining legs of her international tour,” the Post writes.

Besides the energy boost, Gaga is also hoping the new diet will help her lose some weight, though her fans would argue that she's in perfect shape as she is.

“Gaga has decided to go on a major body blitz and cut out all gluten and wheat from her diet, which is very hard to do,” an insider is quoted as saying.

“She has given her people strict instruction to advise staff at venues and restaurants about her new diet because she is taking it very seriously,” the spy adds.

No word yet on how long Gaga has been on a diet or whether it's already paying off.

“Her diet mainly consists of fish, chicken and vegetables, the source reports, though she does allow herself one potato or serving of rice per week. Gaga also allegedly indulges on gluten-free cookies when her sweet tooth hits,” the Post writes, citing the same unnamed inside source.

As noted above, if this is true, Gaga wouldn't be the only celebrity praising the benefits of a gluten-free diet, which studies have failed to ascertain precisely yet.

Not long ago, former Disney Miley Cyrus made the switch as well. Thanks to it and a very rigorous daily workout routine (Pilates), she managed to drop all excess weight and get a body to kill for.
