As a surprise for her Little Monsters, as she calls her fans, Lady Gaga has released a brand new version, a remix of her latest single, the chart-topping “Born This Way.” It’s a country version – and you can check it out at the end of the article.

MTV News points out that Gaga decided to come out with the remix after she noticed that the original “Born This Way” clung to the number one spot in Billboard Hot 100 for the sixth consecutive week.

In other words, just like with everything else she’s been doing since breaking in the spotlight, Gaga wanted the new song to be a gift from her to her loyal fans.

“Born This Way (The Country Road Version)” was released via Gaga’s Twitter and, as per the same MTV, it’s surprising how good it is.

After all, country is not exactly a sound one would immediately associate with the singer. Nevertheless, reception of the song has been amazing, with some even saying they like it better than the original version.

“The new rendition of the hit opens with ominous, swirling guitars and then introduces a fuzzed-out slide guitar and harmonica wheeze, with all of the thumping disco beats replaced by restrained brush drumming and a more laid-back vibe,” MTV says of the remix.

“Once it kicks into the first chorus, the song continues to take its time, choogling along on live-sounding, laconic drumming and lots of soulful harmonica,” adds the same e-zine.

There’s more to “The Country Road Version” than just a brand new sound, since Gaga also included in it a handful of new lyrics, MTV underlines.

“If I wanna make it country, baby, then it’s OK, cuz I was born, I was born, I was born this way. From London, Paris, Japan back to USA/ I was born on the road, I was born to be brave,” Gaga sings.

“Born This Way” the album is out in music stores on May 23. As of now, Gaga and her people are working out the details of a tour to support it.
