Lady Gaga was one of the many performers at Bill Clinton’s gala which celebrated his 65th birthday and the 10th anniversary of his foundation. However, she was the only one to drop an F-bomb during the performance.

Video of the entire thing is below, embedded at the end of the article.

As we also informed you earlier today, for the special Clinton gala, Gaga performed “Born This Way” and “The Edge of Glory.”

The latter had been adapted to include a “Happy Birthday” to the former President, as well as plenty of mentions to how he’d been “born this way.”

At one point, Gaga got a bit caught in the moment and, in trying to convey audiences her sense of honor and pride that she was performing for them on such a special occasion, she had a slip of the tongue.

“If someone had told me so many years ago that I’d be doing that right in front of you I just would not believe them,” she said, sitting high at her piano on an elaborate set piece.

“I would have given a good American [expletive] you,” she said, dropping an F-bomb.

However, no harm was done by it. As we were telling you only hours ago, it was with another thing about Gaga’s performance that some took offense: the song she chose for closing.

Instead of bowing and leaving, Gaga, splayed on the floor was rolled out to the tune of “Government Hooker,” one of the tracks on her “Born This Way” album.

Some commenters online deemed her choice for a closing song “disrespectful” and “vile,” calling her anything from a “troll” to “attention seeker” and “fake.”

Her fans, though, argue that organizers must have seen something like this coming, since, after all, they invited Lady Gaga. In doing so, they also invited controversy.
