Ever since she broke into the spotlight in a very violent manner, much like Madonna also did many years ago, some say, Lady Gaga has not even for a second ceased to stun and shock with her fashion choices and statements. Her latest appearance is, in this sense, the oddest so far since she went for a bondage-like dress matched with a black mask covering both her eyes and her mouth, as JustJared can confirm.

The singer was present in Malta, at a press conference for the Isle of MTV Malta Special, where she also performed. Renowned for her outfits that are either too futuristic for the tastes of the vast majority or infringe upon century-standing unwritten fashion rules (such as to always wear pants when going out in public), Gaga managed to reduce the audience to complete silence once more with her out of this world fashion sense.

Dressed in a knee-long, black leather, studded dress, Lady Gaga chose to cover her entire face with what looked very much like a GIMP mask. Thus, her eyes and lips were covered, the only things by which the crowd could tell it was her being the blonde, Marilyn-esque curls and the nose, which is unmistakably Gaga’s. It is not yet known whether the singer addressed the media in any way – if she didn’t, it could very well be that her latest outfit be some sort of statement. If she did though, several US publications point out, then it’s clear that she’s once again pushing the envelope on the world’s very notion of acceptable.

Speaking of pushing the envelope, just yesterday, it emerged that Lady Gaga had a very strange notion of why people are constantly fascinated with her. It’s not because of her music or because of her unique style that people never cease to be curious about her, Gaga was saying, but rather because they were waiting for her to expose herself. The media wants her to tread the already well-trodden female celebrity path, Gaga believes, but that will not happen anytime soon.

“My concerts are about me being very private in public, but I’m very protective. My apartment is my stage, and my bedroom is my stage – they’re just not stages you’re allowed to see. When you let a bunch of people in there, they [mess] with that energy and it becomes a circus. Put it another way: Everybody wants me to show my [privates] to the world all the time. And the truth is, I don’t have to.” Gaga was saying in the interview.
