The latest issue of Vogue Hommes Japan comes with a cover with Jo Calderone, Lady Gaga’s male alter ego, the mechanic from Sicily. A new cover for the same edition is now out.

The other cover shows Gaga as a woman, posing for the camera while wearing nothing but a string of raw slices of meat. The only thing redder than the meat is her lips.

As of now, it’s not known whether Gaga has agreed to do this in order to make a statement but one can easily assume either of the following will happen, or even both: more details will emerge soon and PETA won’t be happy about it.

Tyra Banks tried to pull a similar stunt a while ago, when she had the girls pose in raw meat for America’s Next Top Model.

Back then, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals reacted promptly, saying this type of shots glamorized murder, while also crossing the line of what was acceptable – even when talking about art.

Oh No They Didn’t also seems to believe that Gaga is trying to make a statement of sorts with the new photo – but the mystery will undoubtedly clear up very soon.

“On stands Friday, September 10th. Gross and hot at the same time, maybe she’s making a statement idk,” reads the post accompanying the pic in question.

Right now, all that fans know is that the cover of the magazine promises a very revealing interview with the singer, spiced up with photos by none other than photographer Terry Richardson.

Of course, fans also know that the other version of the same issue of Vogue Hommes comes with an interview and a photospread with Jo Calderone, who claims to be a close friend of Gaga’s, as well as her occasional lover.

“I met her at a shoot Nick Knight was doing. She’s [expletive] beautiful, and funny, and interesting. I was a little nervous for Nick to start shooting. She said, ‘Don’t be baby, you were “born this way”.’ I took her out after. The rest is private ;)” Calderone says for the magazine, as we also reported.
