14 DAY TRIAL // Keeping tabs on Lady Gaga’s outfits or on the directions her eccentric style might take her next can be one of the toughest endeavors one can attempt, but not downright impossible, as the Daily Mail proves. Now in London for a series of live gigs, the star shocked again with her attire for a warm nigh out to a restaurant in Soho.
Fans must already be accustomed to seeing their idol in anything from golden glob-like hats to gimp masks, but perhaps not even they thought they would ever get to see her with bunny ears. Then again, maybe this was precisely what Gaga wanted of them and why she chose to wear one such headdress in the first place, since she’s known to adore taking people by surprise, shocking them into submission and then moving on to doing something even more outrageous.
The lace bunny ears was not all that Gaga did in London either, since she also matched the unique headdress with the most distinct of Alexander McQueen’s creations, a long, black, wool dress equipped with tubular coils that seemed about to overpower her and bring her down, especially since she was also high up on killer heels.
In the end, Gaga won and managed to carry her thus adorned frame to the safety of a cab without any problems, but that still leaves the question of how far she’s willing to go for her style. As the Mail also points out, even if she looks as cool as a cucumber, Gaga must have been sweating profusely under all that wool and the thick stockings.
Still, the singer has said on more than one occasion that people should not try to fit her into a box just because she dresses differently. Whereas other artists only get to wear funky outfits on stage – and not even then –, she for one feels entitled to do so in real life as well, since they reflect her personality. This is one of the things Gaga hates the most, as per her own words: being labeled a poser, a fake, one who does all these outrageous things only for attention.
“The biggest misconception about me is I’m a character or a persona. That when the lights and cameras turn off, I turn into a pumpkin. It’s simply not true. I make music and art and design all day long. Yes, I wash my face and go to sleep but when I wake up, I am always Lady Gaga.” the singer wrote on her person webpage a while back.
