Singer pushes the envelope again, goes for the witchy look

Those who would never count themselves among Lady Gaga’s fans say that she tries so hard to outdo herself with every new appearance that one day might actually see her come to bodily harm because of her odd fashion choices. This seemed to (almost) be the case the other day, for instance, when she broke a pair of very ridiculously looking shoes, as JustJared can confirm.

Dressed from head to toe in black and with her hair dyed grey – which actually made her resemble an old woman (the widow type) in mourning –, Gaga debuted a very unique pair of platform shoes, which actually have no heel. This means that whoever has the courage to wear them actually has to walk on their toes – or at least maintain balance by avoiding to shift their bodyweight onto the heel. With some help, Gaga managed to make it safely from her car to the entrance door without tripping.

“Lady Gaga steps out in yet another crazy outfit while attending the Almay Concert to Celebrate the Rainforest Fund on Thursday (May 13) in New York City. The 24-year-old musician was dressed in an all-black custom lace Calvin Klein Collection dress and leggings. She also tried to defy gravity but walking on her tippy toes in very high platform shoes – with no heels! Victoria Beckham wore similar heel-less boots almost two years ago,” JustJared notes.

One might as well comment that Victoria’s heels (which were actually boots running up to her thigh) appeared to have fewer inches. To her credit, Victoria managed to walk with less assistance than Gaga – and even to go down a few stairs – all in the name of high fashion. Then again, those who know both Gaga and Posh also know that these two would stop at virtually nothing to impress.

In the past, Lady Gaga repeatedly made headlines for refusing to wear pants and appearing in public in nothing but her underwear, for her odd choices of hats and face masks and, last but not least, her haute-couture gowns that few other women would ever dare (or afford to, for that matter) wear in public, unless they’re models on the catwalk.
