Lady Gaga might have been burning the candle at both ends, what with her Monster Ball tour, countless other live performances and televised interviews. The other night, Gaga brought her critically acclaimed tour to Auckland, New Zealand and nearly passed out as she performed the closer “Bad Romance,” as ThatGrapeJuice can also confirm.

The singer took to the stage in her usual futuristic gear, and surrounded by her buff and energetic dancers, but from the first seconds of singing it was clear that there was something off with her. Though she always keeps up with her dancers and doesn’t miss a beat even when she happens to trip and fall, Lady Gaga could barely stand. At one point, as the video below will also show, she seems so exhausted, she just lay there barely moving – though she doesn’t stop singing for a second.

“There have today been renewed calls for Pop phenomenon Lady Gaga to take a break from her hectic workload, following a shocking live showing in Auckland, New Zealand last night. While performing the night’s closer ‘Bad Romance’, the 23 year old star appeared ‘out of it’, forced to sit out (and at points lay flat) during the entire performance. Though kudos are most certainly due for the budding icon for finishing the performance, there really does come a point when one’s health and safety take pre-eminence over everything else – now being one of those times. Her rapid rise to prominence and dominance has been like no other in recent Pop history, and it appears the intensity of it all is getting to her physically,” the aforementioned music-oriented e-zine writes.

Towards the end of the song, Gaga musters all her strength and gets up from the floor to take part in the dance routine that fans know from the much-hyped music video as well. Always the performer, once the song is done, Gaga also stops and takes part in the final bow with her dancers, though the pained expression on her face seems to give her away and, in particular, the fact that she’s close to collapsing right there, in front of the live audience.

With all this, reviews for the performance continue to be very appraising. “The Monster Ball Tour is an often absurd and frequently exhilarating concert experience. Filled with dancers that look like they bunked off a day on the set of Glee to go watch this old movie The Warriors that someone told them about; filled with a giant scaffold stage-set that replicates a New York back lot, filled with ambition and pomposity, The Monster Ball Tour is, apparently, ‘a pop electro opera’; it is also everything a huge pop show should be – filled with songs the fans love, that play as soundtracks to set pieces,” stuff.co.nz writes of the Auckland show.

Below is the video of Gaga being on the verge of collapsing. Though it’s of poor quality, it leaves little room to doubt that there is something very wrong with her.
