14 DAY TRIAL // Singers and actors are no longer strangers to the fashion industry, with most of them having at least one collection in stores worldwide. Until not long ago, Lady GaGa was one of the few who didn’t, but that’s about to change in the immediate future, as the hitmaker has just announced that she has serious plans to go into fashion with her own clothing line.
Lady GaGa is known, other than for her music, for her out-of-the-ordinary performances and funky style. She is, as most fashion insiders say, iconic for refusing to wear pants in public and for making the oddest, most daring and spectacular choices in terms of dress. It is precisely this that the singer wants to infuse in her own creations, she admits as quoted by the Daily Mail. And then, all that’s left for her to do is hope that her style will catch on with regular women, although a total adoption would be close to impossible, critics believe.
“I can’t wait to do my own line. It’s definitely something I want to do in the next year as I do have my own style.” Lady GaGa reveals. In all fairness, over the past year or so, she has demonstrated that her own style is more than enough to cause a stir – however, whether it will also sell is entirely another issue. As fashion experts are saying, getting regular women to walk around in flesh-colored leotards paired with what looks like a swimsuit, pearls and leather gloves might prove to be quite a challenge. Moreover, this look suits Lady GaGa just great, it would undoubtedly work even when out clubbing, they also believe.
One man who is completely behind Lady GaGa’s upcoming endeavor is singer Akon, not a stranger himself to fashion, as he has his own label called Konvict Clothing. “People dissed her because of the way she dresses, but she’s hot. Everyone wants to look like her. She’ll walk around in London in her underwear and everyone will catch on.” Akon points out for the aforementioned publication.
