Says fashion is a matter of perspective

One of the hottest pop artists of the moment, “Poker Face” singer Lady GaGa, is also one of the most fierce female presences on the scene right now as regards fashion choices. Whatever GaGa does in terms of fashion is bold and impressive, it has often been said, including her stepping out in town without wearing pants.

It is precisely this, though, that has got the singer in trouble with the police a couple of days ago, several media outlets are reporting. It’s not so much that Lady GaGa goes out clubbing in her underwear – because she doesn’t – but the fact that she wears hotpants as regular pants that has given police officers a hard time. Fashion is art, in the end, the singer herself says and, even if it’s occasionally very hard for her to make others see it that way too, she will never stop trying.

Last time Lady GaGa got in trouble for her penchant for hotpants was in Chicago, where police officers tried to arrest her for fear others might find offense with her barely-there outfit. “I guess they weren’t really pants at all.” GaGa shares. “But it was really funny because all you saw was this girl on the street yelling at some cop, ‘It’s fashion! I’m an artist!’ It was fun.” the singer further explains.

Her not wearing pants on the occasion is not so much a question of aversion to clothes, the star explains, but of embracing the human body as it is. In the end, she must know what she is talking about, it has been noted, since she used to work once as a burlesque dancer and is more than proud of her figure, which she displays in quirky outfits in most of her shows. “It’s not that I don’t like pants, I just choose not to wear them some days.” Lady GaGa adds.

Furthermore, since she has such a unique style that goes hand in hand with her strong personality, and is not afraid of stepping on a few toes to express herself freely, Lady GaGa is also planning to make her debut in the fashion industry with her own line of clothes. “I can’t wait to do my own line. It’s definitely something I want to do in the next year as I do have my own style.” she revealed a while back, although she refused to name a release date as to when the collection might drop in stores.
