Says fans deserve more than mouthing the words of a song

Although other pop stars, be they female or male, have no problem with getting up on stage and mouthing the words to their songs, Lady GaGa says she for one will never be caught doing that. Music always comes first for her, and her fans deserve more than just seeing her dance and pretending to sing, the star admits in a recent interview as cited by ONTD.

Speaking with MTV News at the KIIS-FM Wango Tango music festival at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Irvine, California, Lady GaGa said that she was already given more leniency than any other pop artist out there as regards both her music and her clothes, so starting to lip synch would be, at this point, utter nonsense. Making music is a blessing, the star says, and she wants to make the most of it every day no matter how challenging her dance routines might be, which is an excuse many performers use to cover their unwillingness to sing live.

“I would never even think about it [lip synching]. The whole point to me is, if you’re gonna be number one, you better really be [expletive] number one. If you’re gonna be on top, you better be able to do all those things, because it’s a real privilege to be able to make music everyday, and I get away with a lot... Andy Warhol says art is what you can get away with, and I get away with a lot with my music and my clothes, and I work really hard so I could truly be a real artist for all my fans. That’s really [expletive] up when you lip-synch.” Lady GaGa said in the recent interview.

The “Poker Face” singer revealed in the same interview that she was preparing to come out with a new video, for her single “Paparazzi,” while also working on about six new tracks that she would be releasing as some sort of thank you to all her fans. These tracks, however, will not be included on a new album – at least, not right now – GaGa explains, adding that she simply doesn’t work on the same timeline as the rest of the music industry.

The “Paparazzi” video was directed by Jonas Akerlund, known for his past collaboration with names like Smashing Pumpkins, Madonna, Moby and U2. According to GaGa, it came out like “a short film” of which she feels immensely proud. GaGa’s latest single, “LoveGame” is already getting massive airplay.
