Officials at LaGuardia airport in New York have reopened both runways after the crash landing of a jet on Monday evening.

As I have previously written, a Southwest plane incurred a nose gear collapse and 10 passengers were wounded in the harsh landing.

“The aircraft skidded down the runway on its nose and then veered off and came to rest on the grass area between the runway and [the taxi area],” says Thomas Bosco, LaGuardia Airport general manager.

NewsDay reports that the Southwest Boeing 737-700 has been towed to an American Airlines hanger and National Transportation Safety Board authorities are looking into the cause of the crash.

Steve Coleman, spokesman for the Port Authority, mentions that the runway is now open once more. There are delays of up to an hour at the moment, but they should soon be eliminated.
