LaCie has rolled out a new firmware developed for its 2Big network-attached storage, namely version 3.1.4.6, which adds new features, fixes various bugs, and can be applied only if the current version is higher than 3.0.7.1 (otherwise, you must install this one first).

The available package adds features such as Multi-Volume Management, Hardware Monitoring, and JBOD, and includes multi initiator support for iSCSI.

In addition to that, version 3.1.4.6 improves the event logger, enhances the reboot behaviour, and fixes the File Browser and LED Management issues. Moreover, UI problems in different widgets, and security vulnerabilities in file browser are resolved as well.

As for installing the firmware, run LaCie’s Network Assistant, go to Preferences and disable “IPConf Support,” select the 2Big NAS from the Configuration tab, and click on the “Update your NAS” button.

Now, fill the authentication window with your username and password, browse and load the firmware file, click “Continue…,” and wait patiently until the update process completes.

Bear in mind that while the installation is in progress, wireless connections should be turned off, and you must ensure that data transfers to the NAS are stopped.

That being said, follow the link below, and download the latest firmware version for your LaCie 2Big network storage.
