LaCie, one of the world's leading vendors of computer storage products, has just announced the expansion of its range of Wireless HD media players with the introduction of the new LaCinema Black PLAY and LaCinema Black RECORD, designed by Neil Poulton. These new LaCinema Black products are focused on providing consumers with a device that can help them access and play content directly from their HDTVs. Coming with support for the latest technologies available on the market, these new solutions will deliver a large storage capacity for the user's multimedia library.
“Now that families are beginning to consume masses of digital content, they need a multimedia device that will allow them to easily store and play their favorite content right from their existing home entertainment center,” said Patrick Salin, LaCie multimedia business unit manager. “With LaCinema Black products, users can access media over their network, listen to music, sort photos, record TV programs, and ultimately get the desired experience from their media collection – all from one product.”

Available in capacities of 500GB and 1TB, these new LaCinema Black media centers can enable the end-user to play movies, music and browse through their favorite photos on an HDTV. The file support list for these two solutions is considerably large, enabling users to use a wide range of multimedia files. Both solutions are built with a 500GB hard drive and provide users with Hi-Speed USB 2.0 ports and Ethernet connectivity. The maximum supported resolution is 1920 by 1080p for a true 1080p HD viewing experience.
According to LaCie, its latest LaCinema Black products are already available through the company's Online Store and resellers, for a suggested retail price tag that start at US$429.99. The difference between the two is that the RECORD model also has input port and can enable users to record their favorite TV shows and enjoy them anytime.
