It’s not pretty but it’s effective, creator Rachel De Boer vouches

They say one can tell a woman’s age by looking at her hands. While ladies can choose to wear gloves if they don’t wish to have their real age known, like Madonna does as of recently, another tell-tale sign is the cleavage, which can also wrinkle. With this in mind, a former air hostess from the Netherlands created La Decollette, the first bra of its kind that banishes wrinkles on the cleavage, as the Telegraph informs.

Rachel De Boer started to notice wrinkles on her chest while in her late 30s, wrinkles that she believed to have been caused mostly by sun exposure and the damage that did. She also noticed that, no matter how many lotions and creams she applied, the wrinkles would obstinately not go away, which made it very hard for her to wear any top with a lower cut because they were rather unsightly.

So, she developed La Decollette, a bra that covers the entire chest area without covering the breasts actually. It is meant to be worn at night, and works by keeping the breasts apart during sleep and, this way, efficiently preventing the apparition of wrinkles and smoothing some of the fine lines already existent. The product is already available in over 100 lingerie stores in the Netherlands, but De Boer hopes it will become available in the UK as well very soon.

“I spent many happy years as an air hostess travelling the world and obviously enjoying the sunshine and beaches. In those days we were not as aware of how much damage this can do to the skin and I was only in my early 30s when I was horrified to see my skin wrinkling. I was afraid to show my cleavage and none of the creams and treatments I tried seemed to help.” De Boer says of how she came up with the idea for the bra.

Although further details on La Decollette are not yet available, it’s garnering plenty of media in the UK, which might make one easily conclude that a release for it here is being planned as we speak. Keep an eye on this space for more details on it.
