Sony Ericsson did not unveil plans for LTE-capable Xperia mobile phones as of yet, but the company might make the move in the very near future.

Moreover, it appears that we could learn about the release of a 4G-capable Xperia PLAY smartphone on the airwaves of Verizon Wireless in the United States, a recent report on Android Central states.

The wireless carrier reportedly kicked off new internal training, and the aforementioned 4G-enabled version of Xperia PLAY might be the main character there.

The handset is said to be very real, although there are no retails available on when it might be released on shelves.

Since Big Red is said to have already kicked off the said training, the unveiling might not be too far at all. However, we’ll take this with a grain of salt for the time being, though we’ll be keeping an eye out for additional info on it.
