Starting today, AT&T’s customers are offered the possibility to purchase the new iPad mini from Apple, as well as the company’s fourth-generation iPad tablet.

The wireless carrier has added the new devices to its offering on a series of data plans that will provide customers with the possibility to benefit from 4G connectivity.

Sporting a 7.9-inch display, the new iPad mini packs an A5 chip inside, while also delivering up to 10 hours of battery life.

The tablet’s features list also includes iSight and FaceTime cameras, fast wireless connectivity, and access to over 275,000 applications available for download in the Apple App Store. Basically, all the software designed for the iPad will work on the iPad mini devices as well.

“So it's an iPad in every way, shape, and slightly smaller form,” the wireless carrier notes on its website.

“iPad mini, a completely new iPad design that is 23 percent thinner and 53 percent lighter than the third generation iPad.”

The device is accompanied on AT&T’s network by the fourth-generation iPad as well, which comes with a 9.7-inch Retina display, a new A6X chip, FaceTime HD camera, and fast wireless connectivity.

Both tablet PCs arrive on shelves with the new iOS 6 platform, which packs over 200 new features when compared to the previous releases.

“Our customers are increasingly connecting their devices to the mobile internet and our new Mobile Share plans allow them to add a tablet for just 10 dollars a month,” said Glenn Lurie, president, Emerging Enterprises and Partnerships, AT&T Mobility. “We're thrilled to offer iPad mini to our customers on the nation's largest 4G network.”

Users interested in the purchase of the new devices will find them available at all AT&T retail locations. The new iPad mini features a price tag starting at $359.99, while the fourth-generation iPad is available starting at $529.99. Both are available with 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of internal memory and can be seen on AT&T’s website on this page.
