Chinese company Huawei is rumored to launch its first LTE smartphone in India, the Ascend D2. The smartphone has already been available in various countries since March last year, but the LTE smartphone will soon make its way to India as well.

The information comes from sources familiar with Huawei’s plans for India who have told GadgetsToUse that the Ascend D2 should make its debut in the country within the next two months.

This is rather a large timeframe for a launch, but we expect more details on the exact release date of the smartphone to emerge in the coming weeks.

As for Ascend D2’s specs, the smartphone will probably ship with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, though Huawei may load a newer version in India.

Furthermore, the powerful handset has a 1.5GHz quad-core Huawei K3V2 processor and 2GB of RAM. It packs no less than 32GB of storage, but lacks microSD card slot for internal memory expansion.

More importantly, the phone will come with support for LTE connectivity and IP67 certification for dust and water resistance. It’s also worth mentioning that the Ascend D2 sports a 5-inch IPS full HD (1080p) display and an enhanced 13-megapixel main camera.
