14 DAY TRIAL // It seems like LSI is getting ready to write yet another chapter in the PCI Express SandForce driven SSD saga with their brand new WarpDrive SLP-300 drive that claims some staggering performance results as well as “never seen before” reliability for all you enterprise customers out there.
Coming is as a half-length low-profile card, the WarpDrive goes into an open 8x PCIe Gen 2.0 slot and can sustain up to 1,400MB/s of throughput as well as 240,000 4K read IOPS and up to 200,000 4K write IOPS, impressive numbers to say the least.
In order to reach these results the WarpDrive is built using a LSISAS2008 6Gb/s SAS I/O controller that manages what seems to be three different SandForce driven SSDs configured in RAID for a hefty performance boost.
Furthermore, this controller utilizes LSI SAS software drivers to provide channel partners with simple integration and management using existing SAS infrastructure, installation also being a lot simplified since the WarpDrive card is bootable and doesn't come with any external power requirements.

If all these specs sound just about right to you then you better be prepared to reach deep into your pockets as the WarpDrive SLP-300 comes with an impressive $11,500 price tag, so, enthusiast or not, this is definitely something that you won't see in your everyday computer any time soon.
The drive will become available on November 29, the WarpDrive SLP-300 coming, for now, with 300GB of storage space.
