One of the latest applications that owners of Nokia Asha devices have seen made available for download through the official Nokia Store is LINE, which provides users with access to one of the most popular messaging platforms in the world.

The app, available on this page in the aforementioned storefront for free, offers support for Nokia’s Asha 305, 306, 308, 309, 310, and 311 devices.

Through this app, users will be able to send free sticker messages to friends and family, all straight from the Series 40 device in their hands.

With over 140 million users worldwide in more than 230 countries, the service has already proved highly popular, especially since it is ranked first in 40 markets.

To take advantage of the app, users will have to download and install it, configure it with their phone number, which will return an activation code via SMS, and then register with an email address and password for a LINE account (though this is optional).

“With a LINE account you can access your existing profile information, such as the friends list, even if you change phones, your number, or if you start using LINE on a computer,” Nokia explains.

“Finally, you can grant the app access to your address book to build up your friends list. Magically, it only imports contacts that are already LINE users.”

To send a message, simply select someone from the contacts list, type the message and hit the send button. Texts can also be personalized with photos.

Users can also create chat groups, through going to “Create a group,” selecting a name for it, and then adding people to it, all straight from the Asha phone.

“LINE has some other worthwhile features, such as the ability to block certain users, turn off your public ID and stop people from automatically adding you to their friends list. All these options can be found in the settings menu,” Nokia also explains.

“Most of the time though, LINE is about connecting you with your friends and it does that rather brilliantly. It’s fast becoming a must-have app.”
