The latest mobile operating system launched by Microsoft might be closer to a market landing than expected before, some of the latest reports around the Internet show. While the Redmond-based company stated at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last week that the first handsets powered by Windows Phone 7 were set to arrive in time for the holiday season 2010, it seems that we might actually enjoy them sooner than that, namely in September.

Previous reports on the matter suggested that October might actually be the month when the first such mobile phones would be released on shelves, yet now Engadget states that September is the lucky month. And they also say that the first Windows Phone 7 device will arrive from LG, which reportedly announced that it planned delivering the handset on the market sometime in the September-November time frame.

Earlier rumors, in case some of you might not remember, also placed the launch of a Windows Phone 7 handset from LG sometime in September, but that was before the operating system was even officially announced, and the new report comes as some sort of a confirmation for the launch. However, nothing is official at the moment, and there are chances that it will all turn out to be only a supposition, but we can still keep out fingers crossed for this to pan out.

In the meantime, we should take a look at other LG-related news, regarding the launch of the company's new flagship Android smartphone, the LG-LU2300, which is said to be slated for a second quarter launch. The handset is expected to arrive on the market with a 1Ghz CortexA8 application processor on board, with a WVGA AOMLED touchscreen, a 5-megapixel photo snapper with 720p video recording capabilities, as well as with Mobile TV Tuner and Android 2.1 on board. A wide range of applications and services will also be pre-loaded on the device, so as to make it one of the most appealing handsets on the market.
