The Singapore branch of LG Electronics has just announced the release of two new notebooks powered by Intel's 45-nanometer Hi-K Core Duo mobile processor for Centrino. Both notebooks are dedicated to the multimedia consumers and come with discrete graphics from Nvidia.

The LG E300 is an ultra-portable notebook with a 13.3-inch LCD display. It is one of the first notebooks released on the Singapore market that is powered by a 45-nanometer Intel Core 2 Duo T8300 processor. The Intel chip is built on the Core microarchitecture and enjoys all the benefits of the 45-nanometer production node. The hafnium-based high-K + metal gate transistor design makes the CPU 25% smaller than the regular processors, with dramatic improvements in energy efficiency and computing performance.

LG E300 comes in a high-gloss finish casing with new imprint patterns that give the notebook a trendy, stylish look. The integrated ATI Express 1250 with up to 896MB in shared graphics memory features a built-in HDMI interface for crystal-clear video and audio. The notebook can be connected to either HDTV sets or directly to the next-generation HDMI-enabled LCD displays.

The LG R405 notebook comes equipped with Nvidia Geforce 8400GS discrete graphics and the Intel Turbo Memory that doubles the memory performance when it comes to rendering high-definition content or gaming. Also, the LG R405 includes the BlueCore 4 (Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR) that triples the data rates over conventional Bluetooth devices, and allows the user wirelessly print or listen to high-definition music using a pair of Bluetooth-enabled headphones.

"We are proud to be one of the first in Singapore to introduce leading-edge notebooks based on Intel?s next-generation Intel Core Duo mobile processor for Centrino," said Bae Jung, Managing Director for LG Electronics Singapore. "Being first to market, LG continues its leadership position in blending cutting-edge technology and design excellence to computing products at compelling price-performance levels."
