LG’s Intenet connected HDTVs have now become even smarter as the company has announced a new partnership with Chumby that will expand the number of apps available to their users.

Under this deal, LG Smart TV owners can access more than 1,000 applications, ranging from news and entertainment, social networking, photo viewing, music, video clips, sports scores and more via the Chumby cloud-based ecosystem.

The way these apps are designed, users don’t have to worry about screen size or the model of their devices compatibility as all LG Smart TV’s are supported.

The even better news is that the ecosystem is available right now to LG Internet connected TV owners, while the rest of you will have to wait a bit longer for Chumby to release the NeTV dongle to get these features on your HDTV.
