South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics has brought to light two new appealing handsets powered by Google's Android operating system, the LG LU2300 and LG KU9500/SU950. Both devices were unveiled officially by LG Korea, and were said to be headed for the market with 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPUs inside.

The launch of these new Android models shows that LG is committed to bring to the market a new series of high-end devices. Both handsets reportedly include 3.5-inch AMOLED touchscreen displays that boast an 800 x 480 pixel resolution, while also packing 5-megapixel photo snappers. One thing that is certain is that they shape up as quite impressive devices from the leading mobile phone maker.

The new LG LU2300, which can be seen in the first photo attached to this article, should hit the shelves with a slide-out full QWERTY keyboard, coupled with a built-in trackpad, this being the main difference between it and LG SU950/KU9500, as UnwiredView notes in a recent article. However, other specs of these phones are similar, as both of them come with terrestrial DMB, Wi-Fi and built-in GPS receivers.

It seems that users choosing the new LG devices might be offered the possibility to share content with a desktop PC or a web server, including contacts, calendar, mail, photos, music, and videos. Moreover, the new SU2300 and SU950/KU9500 should include a 'Scan Search' augmented reality app, as well as a series of other pre-loaded Android software solutions.

The LG LU2300 is expected to become available for purchase sometime in May, powered by Google's Android 1.6 operating system, though it should receive an update to Android 2.1 in July-August. As for LG SU950/KU9500, it is set for release in June, and should be running under Android 2.1 right from the start. The new LG Android phones will become available for purchase in Korea via KT and SK Telecom, but no details on their pricing were unveiled.
