Over the past few months, we’ve stumbled upon a wide range of rumors regarding the availability of a new Nexus smartphone from the South Korean mobile phone maker LG, and some more info on the matter is now available.

We have already learned that the device might be based on the newly unveiled LG Optimus G but that it would sport a different design, as well as the fact that it would run under a new flavor of Android, namely 4.2 (supposedly Key Lime Pie), but the phone’s specs were still a mystery.

Today, however, info that emerged over at MoDaCo provided a better picture of the device, although an actual photo with the mobile phone is not yet available.

The smartphone is set to hit shelves with a 1280x768 True-HD IPS screen on the front, while featuring a Quad-Core Snapdragon S4 processor inside, along with 2GB of RAM for increased performance levels.

An 8-megapixel photo snapper will be included on the back of this mobile phone, with support for full HD video recording, as well as with other high-end enhancements.

These specs are similar with those of Optimus G, and there’s no surprise that the upcoming Nexus handset will include them as well.

However, it seems that LG’s Nexus phone will not pack a microSD memory card slot when released, and that users will have to rely solely on the 8GB / 16GB internal memory that the handset vendor will include inside it.

A non-removable battery will also be present in the package, along with wireless charging, a feature increasingly often spotted inside new smartphones.

The new device is set to hit shelves sometime in mid-November, one year after the latest Google phone arrived, the Galaxy Nexus. However, it seems that Google and LG haven’t decided yet on the marketing name of this device, though they might unveil specifics on the matter in the near future.
