South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics is set to bring to the market some pretty appealing new mobile phones in the near future, and the long rumored LG Star would be one of them, it seems, while the just released LG LU3000 would be another.

Both of these handsets run under Google's Android operating system, and both are said to be lightning fast, especially the LG Star, which should pack a dual-core application processor inside when released on shelves.

The existence of this device was confirmed only via leaked specs and via the photos attached to this article, available for your viewing pleasure, but nothing official was announced on it for the time being.

According to rumors, this would be the very first dual-core mobile phone to run under Google's Android operating system.

It should join hands with the LG LU3000, and should be released first on the market in South Korea in the near future. However, LG is said to plan bringing it to other markets as well.

The specifications list of this device includes a 4-inch touchscreen display that should boast a WVGA resolution, as well as an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back (with flash).

Moreover, the new mobile phone should also sport a HDMI port, as well as a 3.5mm headset jack. Other connectivity options should also be there, such as 3G, WiFi, or Bluetooth.

The new photos of LG Star come from news site Cetizen, which notes that SK Telecom would be the wireless carrier to bring the device to the market. The available photos confirm this.

For the time being, the new mobile phone runs under Android 2.2 Froyo, it seems, but it might be released on the market with Android 2.3 Gingerbread on board.

As stated above, no official announcement on the handset was made for the time being, but it might not be too long before LG makes the move, especially since Google already introduced Gingerbread.
