Two days ago T-Mobile listed both LG myTouch and myTouch Q smartphones on its “Coming Soon” webpage without revealing their release date or price options.

However, the carrier came forward today with an official announcement, unveiling both handsets along with some of their features.

According to T-Mobile, myTouch will be available in two colors, black or white, while the myTouch Q will be offered in either gray or violet.

Again T-Mobile avoids revealing the phones' exact release dates, but states that they will be exclusively available “in time for the holiday season”.

myTouch and myTouch Q by LG are the latest smartphones that join T-Mobile's myTouch family.

Both phones are aimed at Android enthusiasts and offer customers the option to choose from either a standard form factor or a slider device.

When moving to their first smartphone, customers want a simple and uncomplicated experience without compromising on quality. With the introduction of these new myTouch smartphones paired with our worry-free data plans and fast 4G network, we’re making it easier than ever to step up to 4G experiences,” said Andrew Sherrard, senior vice president, marketing, T-Mobile USA.

The smartphones are powered by Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform and come equipped with a 1GHz single core Qualcomm processor, which puts them in the mid-end range (in a world of dual-core smartphones).

The myTouch has a large 3.8-inch capacitive touchscreen display and offers users a virtual keyboard with Swype, whereas myTouch Q features a slightly smaller 3.5-inch touchscreen display and the advantages of a physical slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

Each phone sports a 5-megapixel photo snapper with 720p HD video recording capabilities, while the myTouch embeds an additional front-facing camera with access to T-Mobile Video Chat powered by Qik for face-to-face video chat.

In addition, myTouch and myTouch Q feature a special Genius Button, which allows users to call, text, or search the Web via voice commands.
