Leaked a few months ago along with a dozen more Android-powered devices, the LG enV Pro seems to have been left out by Verizon Wireless. Information is scarce at the moment, but it looks like the device didn't impress users that tried it during the pre-release phase.

It is unclear if the carrier decided to postpone the launch enV Pro, which was initially slated for a November 11th release, or they simply killed the project.

However, with only one more week to go until the “official” announcement, rumors about a possible cancellation of the smartphone are starting to surface.

Initially codenamed LG enV Touch 2, the device should have been a follow-up of the popular messaging phone enV Touch.

The phone's user guide leaked a while ago suggests the LG enV Pro is powered by a NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor and runs on the Android 2.1 (Eclair) platform.

The latter was embedded on all testing units, but it seems that Verizon planned to release the device with Android 2.2 (Froyo) out-of-the-box or to deploy an update by the end of the year.

The attached photo does not reveal much, but the device features a unique clamshell design with dual screens.

The form factor of the smartphone looks similar to the original dual-touchscreens, which include a small display on the outside and a larger one on the inside.

Other known features of the device include a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, FM Radio, as well as a main touchscreen display with 800x480 pixel resolution.

For tech savvy users, it may have seemed odd that LG decided to continue the enV series with an Android device, when Verizon has advertised the enV brand as being a feature-phone series.

At the moment there is no additional information regarding Verizon’s reasons behind the decision, or if the rumors are true or not.
