Purple from Orange

LG Viewty, the high-end touchscreen device released in the fall of 2007, was recently launched in a purple version, and it now comes in four color options: the new purple, black, silver and pink, the last one being available only in South Korea for the moment.

Also named LG KU990, Viewty is a fashion-orientated handset that became very successful since it first hit the market, despite its price, which is far from being affordable (free of any contract, the phone costs about $500).

The purple version of Viewty only adds more attractiveness to the already good looking handset, and it will surely be wanted by many women and/or girls who are into mobile phones. Apparently, purple Viewty is exclusively sold via Orange UK, so only the British users will be able to get it.

Anyway, along with the purple color, the new Viewty brings the same features the original one has, including the 5 Megapixel camera with Schneider-Kreuznach lens, xenon flash, auto focus and video recording (30 fps in VGA mode, 120 fps in QVGA). The sleek handset packs tri-band GSM connectivity with GPRS and EDGE, 3G (HSDPA 2100) for fast Web browsing and quick downloads, a 3 inch touchscreen TFT display with 256K colors and 240 x 400 pixels, Media player (MP3, AAC, WMV, MPEG4 and DivX supported), FM radio with RDS, Bluetooth with A2DP, email, WAP 2.0 / HTML Web browsers, organizer, document viewer, Java MIDP 2.0 and microSD card support.

Measuring 103.5 x 54.4 x 14.8 millimeters and weighing 112 grams, LG Viewty includes a 1000 mAh Li-Ion battery capable of providing up to 4 hours of talk-time and about 400 hours of stand-by time.

The purplish Viewty can be bought from the orange-ish Orange UK for prices ranging from free, with some data plans (the expensive ones, obviously), to 149.99 GBP with the cheap plans.
