Almost official this time

We've seen the LG Viewty II handset in the wild in a series of leaked photos a few times before, and we even spotted it at some trade shows, yet the Korean mobile phone maker hasn't said anything official about it until now. This time around, the device has been spotted on LG’s German blog, and it seems that its name has been changed to Viewty Smart.

Even if some more images of the handset are now available, showing it sporting Orange’s logo, details on its specification list are rather scarce at the moment, yet a specs sheet unveiled a few months ago shows some of the goodies the high-end mobile phone is expected to bring.

Among them, we should be able to see an 8-megapixel photo snapper, which features Schneider-Kreuznach lens and Xenon flash, as well as a 3-inch touchscreen display able to deliver an 800 x 480 pixel (WVGA) resolution.

The LG Viewty II, or Viewty Smart, is only 12.4mm thin and weighs 90g. It includes quad-band GSM frequency support, HSPA connectivity, Wi-Fi and aGPS capabilities as well as 32GB of internal storage space, geotagging of photos and DivX playback capabilities. And we should not forget the S-Class 3D user interface LG has recently unveiled.

Unfortunately, the company has recently pulled said blog post from the site, as there was some sort of a misunderstanding it seems, but it says that more info will be published in the next couple of days. Since there were only a few details on the mobile phone unveiled in the post, we hope that more conclusive ones will be published shortly. In addition, some info on a possible release date or on the price tag of the LG Viewty II might surface at that time as well, so stay tuned for more on this. Until then, you can see the nice-looking handset in the photos below.
