Verizon has added a new low-to-mid range device to its offering, namely the LG VX8360, which comes as the successor of the VX8350 model, already out-of-stock on the operator's official website. The
LG clamshell, which seems to come only with aesthetic changes, compared to the previous model, is a music-centric phone that features dedicated keys for music playback.
The LG VX8360 includes a 1.3-megapixel camera and camcorder, featuring video recording capabilities, self timer, color effects, white balance and dedicated camera video key. The camera offers a 1280x960 resolution, and an Image Editor has also been added into the phone. The handset also sports an internal 2.00" TFT display that offers a 240x320 pixel resolution and 262K colors, as well as a 1.17" external TFT display, with 96x96 pixel resolution and 65K colors.
This music phone sports dual speakers for stereo sound, Music Player supporting MP3, WMA, Unprotected AAC & Unprotected AAC+ formats, V CAST Music with Rhapsody (Subscription, Wireless & PC Downloads), external Music Controls for easy access, create and manage playlists, Sync Music from PC to phone, not to mention a microSD memory card slot supporting up to 8GB of removable memory.
The Bluetooth supports profiles like headset, handsfree, dial–up networking, phone book access, basic printing, Stereo, object push for vCard and vCalendar, file transfer and basic imaging. More features include VZ Navigator, 1.9 GHz CDMA PCS, 800 MHz CDMA frequencies supported and High–Speed EV–DO for data transmission.
The phone's 950mAh battery is reported to offer up to 316 minutes of talk time or up to 641 hours of standby time. The LG VX8360 measures 3.64" x 1.91" x 0.78" and weighs only 3.35 oz. The price of the device has been set at $49.99 and $119.99 with a 2- or 1-year contract agreement and after a $50 rebate, but it can also be acquired without contract for $239.99.
