Alltel Wireless and LG Mobile Phones announced on Thursday that the LG Tritan was available for purchase with the wireless carrier. According to the mobile phone operator, the launch includes a “trifecta of wireless functions,” as the handset comes with a 3-inch full touchscreen display, a 3-megapixel photo snapper, and can offer 3G network speeds.

The new handset comes with flexibility options that are offered via the combination between its touchscreen and its sliding full QWERTY keyboard. LG Tritan brings a full Internet browser, as well as an easy-to-dial virtual keypad, not to mention the voice recognition and voice-activated dialing features. At the same time, users will also be able to benefit from text, picture and video messaging capabilities.

“LG Tritan by Alltel is a great phone to keep customers connected to their friends and family while delivering features like the camera just in time for summer vacations,” said Wendy Michell, director of device strategies for Alltel Wireless. “Running on Alltel’s advanced 3G network, LG Tritan creates a trifecta experience for our wireless users – an experience that is full of entertainment, communication and a whole lot of fun.”

The specification list of the new LG Tritan by Alltel also shows that it should include the 3-megapixel camera with auto-focus and zoom lens, pre-loaded applications such as My-Cast Weather, nuTsie, Alltel Radio Connect, Alltel Navigation, Alltel TV on Demand Connect, and Alltel E-mail, stereo Bluetooth, MicroSD memory card slot for additional storage space, GPS, EVDO, and a 2.5mm headphone jack.

The new mobile phone is available on Alltel Wireless with a price tag of $99.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and can be acquired either online via the carrier's website or from Alltel retail stores. According to the company, the offer addresses new and existing eligible customers that sign for a one-year Smart-Choice Pack service agreement, which starts at $69.99 per month and features unlimited data, e-mail and Web access. In addition to getting the LG Tritan, customers will also receive a hands-free stereo headset.

“The range of LG Tritan is remarkable,” said Ehtisham Rabbani, vice president of product strategy and marketing for LG Mobile Phones. “LG and Alltel designed the perfect balance of hardware and software in this handset including the 3” touch screen and 3G network speed. It’s a true tribute to our consumers.”
