LG Optimus G2, the upcoming flagship Android-based smartphone from the South Korean handset vendor, is set to become official on August 7, and the company has already sent out invitations to the launch event.

The ceremony will take place in New York City, TechRadar reports, and specific info on what the handset will have to offer in terms of hardware will be unveiled there.

The phone maker also published a video teaser for the event, which can be seen embedded above. There are also some new leaked images with the phone, below.

However, previous reports on the matter suggested that LG Optimus G2 (or LG G2) will hit shelves with a 5.2-inch full HD screen, a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, and 3GB of RAM.

Furthermore, it should feature a 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back, 2MP front camera, LTE-Advanced capabilities, and Google’s Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system loaded on top.
