LG is yet another mobile phone maker that plans to make available for purchase a mini version of its latest flagship handset, the LG G2.

Supposedly set to land on shelves as the LG G2 Mini, the handset was rumored recently to arrive later this year, and it seems that an official confirmation on the matter has already emerged.

The South Korean vendor took it to Facebook to tease the mini version of the handset, posting a set of photos with the tagline “Experience the MINI” attached to them. One of these photos also appears to be showing the phone’s back, while comparing it to the LG G2.

The smartphone is expected to be announced on February 24 in Barcelona, and all the necessary info on it will be unveiled there.

In the meantime, however, you might want to know that previous rumors on the LG G2 Mini suggested that it would arrive on shelves with a 4.7-inch touchscreen display.

Moreover, as PhoneArena notes, the handset is said to pack a powerful Snapdragon 800 processor inside, along with 2GB of RAM, making it as powerful as the LG G2.

However, with no official confirmation on these details available as of now, we’ll take them with a grain of salt. After all, most vendors out there actually launched much lower spec’d smartphones in their “mini” series.

Sony was the only one to make a different move so far with its Xperia Z1 Compact, which sports the hardware capabilities of Xperia Z1 in a smaller body, while boasting only a 4.3-inch HD screen.

One way or the other, all the necessary details on LG G2 Mini will be unveiled in less than two weeks from now, so stay tuned to learn specifics on the matter.

Also, keep in mind that we’ll be present at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, so we’ll have the chance to take a closer look at the new device.
