A new touch-enabled mobile phone from LG Electronics is set to soon become available for purchase in Italy, namely the LG Surf 4GB. The leading handset vendor hasn't made an official announcement regarding the device's arrival in Italy, one of the largest mobile markets in Europe, perhaps because the LG Surf 4GB was released as a re-branded Cookie Music KM570.

The South Korean mobile phone maker unveiled the LG Cookie Music KM570 a little more than a month ago in the Netherlands, along with several other new handsets. The Cookie Music's features are reportedly similar with the ones present with the LG Surf 4GB, which suggests that we're actually looking at the same device.

A 3-inch touchscreen display that boasts a WQVGA resolution, the proprietary S-Class UI and a 5-megapixel photo snapper are among the most notable features the new device comes to the market with. However, the specs list also includes Bluetooth 2.1 and USB 2.0 connectivity options, a 3.5mm headset jack, support for HSDPA bands, Dolby Mobile technology, and a full HTML browser.

As suggested by the mobile phone's name, users will enjoy 4GB of available internal memory, though a microSD memory card slot will enable them add more storage space into the mix (up to 16GB), in case it is needed. According to hdblog.it, enhanced access to social networking sites is also included in the package, via three screens and a series of widgets.

The device measures 105.9 x 52.6 x 11.9mm and weighs in at 87g, while featuring a 900mAh battery that can provide up to 4 hours of talk time or up to 100 hours of standby time. LG Surf 4GB is expected to arrive on the shelves in Italy in four color versions, namely Silver, Ash Black, Prism Violet and Blue. Users should be able to purchase it before April ends for a price tag of €199.
