Google has been working hard to increase the adoption rate of its Google TV platform and at this year’s CES the company together with LG, Marvell , MediaTek , Samsung, Sony and Vizio will present a wide selection of products running this software.

Google has announced its partners in a post on the Google TV official blogs, which includes some details about the devices that we should see making their entrance.

The blog also seems to suggest that Marvell won’t be the only chip maker to provide media processors for this platform, as MediaTek and LG will also join the fun, which should help decrease the prices associated with Google TV devices.

No details regarding MediaTek’s hardware are provided, but LG is said to use its L9 media processors in a new line of Google TV products to arrive at CES 2012.

Sony and Vizio will also showcase similar products during this fair, with Samsung is being expected to follow later in 2012.

According to Google, in 2012, its interactive TV platform will also make its debut in other parts of the world outside the US, but the names of the countries to get Google TV were not provided.

In related news, Google has said that since launching the second version of its TV platform, the number of activations more than doubled.

The Google TV 2.0 platform is based on the same Honeycomb 3.1 operating system used to power some recent Android tablets, but this was modified in order to become better suited for large screen HDTVs.

One of the most important features brought by this update is the support for the Google Market application store as well as improved content search.
