The changes on retail channels should have already been made

It looks like the world is wising up to the sheer difference between what new high-end TVs cost and what they should cost. The way LG is cutting prices is evidence enough.

It started with the release of the $3,500 / €2,595 cheapest LG UHD TV and it continues with the price cut of the 55-inch OLED.

The curved display was released at IFA 2013 and bore a tag of $14,000 / €10,300 at the time.

Now, though, LG has reduced its price to $10,000 / €7,500. A surprising but definitely not unwelcome turn of events, to be sure.

Now we can only hope that the prices will decrease even further. It's not all that probable, especially in the near future, but Christmas is always a time of surprises, and the shopping season preceding said holiday is approaching ever so steadily.
