The first stage of its global release program

Yet again we return to LG's Shine slider, a charismatic cellphone that turns a lot of heads every time it is seen. Last time I wrote about it, we only knew LG is going to get it launched in several markets all over the world and that this will happen in a very alert pace.

Today I found out where it is going to go first and that place is the United Kingdom, the first stage of the global release program LG has warned us of. So, the phone previously known as the SV420, KV4200 or even LV4200, has now got a name and a place of birth.

That is true at least for the rest of us living outside Korea because they have been able to enjoy its looks since November 2006.

If you think people won't only fall for the looks because the spec sheet isn't that impressive you must know LG has already sold over 180.000 Shine cellphones in Korea since the phone's official launch and they are still selling it in great numbers each day (some sources tell the Shine is being bought by almost 3.500 Koreans each day).

Why would you want to buy it after being launched in the UK on February 7th 2007? Mainly because it is the second handset in the premium mobile phone Black Label Series launched by LG and I have to tell you it really deserves its place mostly because it is probably one of the few existent cellphones on the mobile market that will make forget about the Chocolate.

And this says a lot if you think about the Chocolate being one of last year's best sold mobile phones.

Nobody has yet the full specifications sheet of this classy cellphone but, as it has been announced, all the technical details will be revealed at the launch event on February 7th so we won't have a lot to wait to find out more about this handset that is being known to feature a 2.6 inch QVGA TFT LCD display working at a 240x320 resolution, a 2 megapixel digital camera with a Schneider-Kreuznach lens, a scroll key under the screen so the users will be able to scroll through the phone's menus without the need of sliding down the keypad, an MP3 player, a mirror-like face, 1 GB of internal memory to store all your favorite multimedia files, wireless Bluetooth connectivity and the Muvee Video Studio software.
